Set amongst 230 acres of peaceful and gently undulating Cambridgeshire countryside
and yet only 8 miles from Cambridge city centre, New Malton Golf Club 18 hole golf
course slopes softly down towards and beyond the picturesque River Cam.
New Malton
Golf Club extends a warm welcome to players of all standards and offers some of the
most competitive greens fees in the region. Handicap certificates are not required.
New Malton Golf Course was originally designed in consultation with Bruce Critchley,
the BBC commentator and former Walker Cup Player and opened in 1994. Since 1995,
Malton has been under the same ownership during which time a major programme of development
and improvement has been undertaken. Over 30,000 players have visited Malton since
its opening.
All Malton’s tees and greens are constructed to USGA specifications,
together with extensive drainage and irrigations of all fairways, greens and tees
– Malton provides excellent playing conditions throughout the year. A 12 bay covered
driving range is also available.
The course extends to 6708 yards, par 72 providing
a stiff test for the better golfer from the back tees, whilst still posing an interesting
challenge from the forward tees through the beautifully scenic countryside. Malton’s
signature hole is the par3 14th, a daunting shot through trees and over a stream
that diagonally fronts the green.
